See all the amazing butterfly sculptures from the 2012 Butterflies and Friends community event ~ an on-going project of the Rotary Club of Colorado Springs.  My work, Wings of Possibilities, will be on display with the others.

Plus, there will be hands-on activities for all ages.  (I will be there to help you create imaginative butterfly masks... other animal-shaped masks available, too!)

First Camping Trip of 2012

I was finally able to escape into the woods for a short while.  Beautiful weekend in the Colorado Mountains.  Bailey and I car-camped... where the only things that matter are nursing a small fire, cooking simple food and taking easy hikes in the tall pines... it's good to be a Coloradoan!

Artist Trading Cards... Join me for a workshop 4/21/12

Imagination Space in the Citadel Mall will have a free workshop on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 10am to 1pm.  Stop by any time during that period to learn about and make Artist Trading Cards.  I'll be there ready to help you!

ARTIST TRADING CARDS (ATC) are a variation of the popular mass-produced trading cards available for sale all over the world. The difference is rather than buying them, you make them. This means that each card is an original work of art, or one of a small edition run that you can trade with other people who have created their own cards.

ANY AND ALL MATERIALS and techniques are permitted (drawing in pencil, pen, marker, chalk or crayon etc., painting, photographs, collage, found materials, mixed media -- anything!). 

THERE IS ONLY ONE RULE: the cards should be the same size as traditional collector cards: 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches (64mm x 89mm). On the back you may want to sign and perhaps date your cards. If they are part of an edition you could number them as well. Add any other information you like, or leave it blank, it's entirely up to you.
